Fond du Lac Soccer Complex Adds New Field Lights

The Fond du Lac Soccer Complex just got brighter, and safer for everyone to play soccer after dark. Thanks in part to a $50,000 grant from the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, the Fond du Lac Soccer Association partnered with Wisconsin Lighting Lab (WILL) from Fond du Lac to install brand new LED powered field lights on Fields 13 and half of Field 12.

The Fond du Lac Soccer Complex already has field lights in its stadium field, but these new lights will allow for more teams to play games and train after dark. In addition, these new lights can be set on timers to automatically come on at sunset and turn off after a period of time reducing the need for volunteers to be on site to manually turn on and off the lights.

The lights are already creating a buzz as the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) reached out to Chad Collett, President of the Fond du Lac Soccer Association to play two President Cup Finals Matches on both Field 1 and Field 13 the evening of October 20th.

"These lights are just one part of our Safe Places to Play Campaign the Fond du Lac Soccer Association has launched", states Chad Collett, President. "Over the past several years we have made several enhancements to the Soccer Complex including field repairs, drainage, new field signs, security lighting, new cross-walks, handicap parking, an expanded concession stand, and a new scoreboard and sound system to name a few. But we are far from done. These lights are just phase 1 of our lighting plan and in phase 2 we plan to add six more light poles which will give the Fond du Lac Soccer Complex the most lit fields in the state of Wisconsin. In addition, we plan to replace old goals and nets (and donate them to the local community and schools), and hopefully soon bring an artificial turf playing surface to Field 1 that will benefit every age group across our programs." Collett concludes.

The Fond du Lac Soccer Association is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that gets NO FUNDING from the Fond du Lac School District, the City, or the County of Fond du Lac. We rely on our programs and the generosity of local sponsors and donors to keep our programs and our 53 acre soccer complex the best it can be for our 1700+ players.

Please consider making a donation online, and if possible we would love to come and speak at any organizations or businesses to spread the word of what the Fond du Lac Soccer program brings to the community.
